Meet the team

Samuel H. Plexico III, CPA, CLU, ChFC

Sam is a 53-year resident of the Grand Strand. Sam graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1979. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting. After graduating he worked with CPA firms and a major real estate developer.

Sam has 38 years’ experience in insurance and employee benefits. Being committed to the industry, Sam has obtained a Certified Public Accountant Certificate, the Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant designations.

Sam and his wife Crandell reside in Pawleys Island, SC They have four children ranging in age from 32 – 39, and 6 grandchildren. They are members at the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. Sam enjoys surfing, golfing, growing roses, yard work, and walking on the beach.

Wilson B. Springs II

Wilson Springs is a native of Myrtle Beach who graduated from Coastal Academy in 1985. He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a degree in Business. He has been a licensed agent in life and health insurance products since 1989. Wilson and his wife Ashley have three children. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Frederick (Rick) Polatty

One of the founding members of Carolina Insurance Group, LLC, Rick, began working in the Life, Accident, Health, and Retirement field in January of 1998. Rick and his other partners saw an ever increasing need to establish an independent insurance agency for their clients and future clients. Being captive to one or two insurance companies would not deliver value to clients.

Rick was born on September 20, 1975, in Columbia, SC. After a brief six month stay in Columbia, his family moved to Darlington, SC. In 1984 his family then moved to Conway, SC.

Rick graduated from Conway High School in 1993 with recognition in the Science Honor Society. After High School, Rick, attended Clemson University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree. While at Clemson Rick became a member / Brother of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Rick held several key leadership positions in his Fraternity while at Clemson. The most important was Alumni Relations Chairman.

While at Clemson, Rick met his wife, Leslie. They now have three children, two boys and one girl, and live in Conway, S.C. His family is a member of Langston Baptist Church in Conway also.

Rick has been involved in the South Carolina Association of Health Underwriters, Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Association – Beta Zeta Chapter (held the position of Treasurer and then President).

Hobbies for Rick include camping with his family, boating, fishing, and tailgating with family and friends during Clemson football games.

Becky Watts

Becky Watts was born in 1979 and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC at the age of four. She graduated in 1997 from Socastee High School and has a bachelor’s degree in business accounting from University of Phoenix. Becky has previous experience in Business Administration and Banking. She has been licensed as an independent life and health insurance agent since May of 2008 and specializes in Medicare insurance, individual and group health insurance, and Affordable Care Act policies.

Becky was the President of the Grand Strand chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters from 2011 – 2012 and received the Grand Strand Pee Dee Association of Health Underwriters Distinguished Service Award in 2010. She serves on Medicare and ACA Advisory Councils.

Tracy Agrella

Tracy Agrella has been a resident in the state of SC for the past 14 years. She graduated with a nursing degree in 1996 and has since developed a career in sales. Now she is a licensed life and health insurance agent committed to helping others feel safe, secure, and protected. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children and friends – cooking, baking, and being in the sun at the local beaches.

Stephanie Atkinson is a native of Myrtle Beach, who graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a BA in Early Childhood Education. After over a decade in education developing her skills in communication and guiding others towards making informed decisions, she now utilizes these skills as a licensed life and health agent. When not spending time with her husband and two children, Stephanie loves adventures and being outdoors. Most especially in a Hot Air Balloon or parasailing, and in her garden.
